The hug of a child

Today we went to a restaurant after church where we had to wait a few minutes until we could be seated. I was sitting on a bench in the waiting area with my arms crossed. Next to me was another group of people consisting of about 6 adults and 2 children A little boy approx. 8 years old and a little girl about 4 years old. The little girl come over to me hugged me. In this day and time, I was afraid of what her parents might think if they decided to look over and see her hugging me. The little boy finally grabbed her by the arm and pulled her away. This was fine and I felt more comfortable then. However, he called out to the little girls mother and said "Tiffany was hugging a stranger!" All the adults wheeled around - all eyes were on me! I was trying to figure out what to say so they would not think I was a perv. I was also hoping the little boy would clear things up or they would realize that SHE was the one hugging me NOT ME hugging her. Finally the tension was broken when her mother said "Yes, she is a very friendly little girl."

  1. You should have told them you were Santa on a break from delivering all the presents and you don't get a chance to eat out often. (I read your "I just wanted my pizza.)
